Jim Bozeman was also one of the first artists in the Chicken House, under its new ownership by Ruth Anderson and under its new reincarnation as an artists’ and craftpeoples’ workspace. Jim is from Greenville, South Carolina, attended Wade Hampton High School followed by Marylhurst University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Arts and Ceramics. Jim was in the Chicken House for several years, building a kiln outside in the lower parking lot to fire his pottery which followed the traditional techniques of South Carolina Edgefield pottery. He specialized in face jugs but also produced whimsical designs on plates, jugs, and other storage containers . Jim now resides in Portland, Oregon. His pieces sell for several hundreds of dollars to collectors.
